Yesterday, after dropping Randy at the office (for a full day's work, I might add), grocery shopping and throwing a crock-pot supper together, I met Sister Truman at the office and we went on a little adventure. One of the sisters had left her scriptures in our building after the training on Friday. She serves in Thousand Oaks right now. Additionally, an elder had asked if a package had come for him -- his mom had sent him a foam pad for his mattress a couple of weeks ago and he had not received it. We checked and determined that it had not arrived. Well, wouldn't you know, after everyone had left, we found it! We thought it was a package for a new missionary who is coming next week! Sigh. SO, while this is not a normal activity, we decided to deliver said items :) We also stopped in Camarillo to return a sad water bottle that had been left behind. We saw three sets of missionaries and had a great visit with each other, coming and going. As we were headed toward Thousand Oaks, we noticed that the traffic coming towards us on the freeway (heading to the coast) was bumper to bumper and moving very slowly. Oh oh - holiday weekend! We didn't even think about that. Well, we chose another route to return -- back roads and a very beautiful, pleasant drive. We patted ourselves on the back, had lunch with our husbands, left them to have fun at the office and we went our separate ways for the rest of the day.
I made cookies for neighbors and Celestial Squares for the Linger Longer which we will have later today. Looking forward to church and visiting with friends from Oxnard 2nd Ward.
We have one month left to complete our mission. We will continue to enjoy that journey!
