Farewells Are Difficult

We had a sweet day today (Sunday).  Fast Sunday in our ward was quite wonderful - every meeting was special.  At the linger longer, we were presented with a beautiful picture of the Channels - So cool!  Thanks, Brother Edwards, for that.  We bid fond farewells to our friends in Oxnard 2nd Ward.

Then we, the Trumans, and the Ruses had dinner (no, we did not eat at the linger longer :) at the Castro's.  What a great evening it was!  Sister Castro prepared a delicious meal of herb chicken, potatoes, salad, and vegetables with a marvelous fruit/cake/jello dessert.  So scrumptious!  President asked me to sing a song, he spoke kindly to us all, Elder Mecham and I bore our testimonies, we sang a hymn and Hannah accompanied, then we dismissed with prayer.

Here are a few pictures

Nora and Fernando Castro

Sad that this did not turn out :(
Sam and Hannah are the best!

  1. Elder and Sister Mecham,

I have so enjoyed reading your blog, I hope you did not mind it. Thank you for your service to the California-Ventura Mission. My son spoke highly of you two and I know you were a great asset to the mission. Enjoy your time at home and thanks again for all you did for the mission.

    1. Sister Johnson, We loved your son, Elder Johnson -- he is a great missionary! We enjoyed serving around him and getting to know him. I'm sure you are very proud of him. We are home now and adjusting to "normal" life again. We DO miss the mission and are so grateful for the time we were able to spend there!
